Instructions

  1. Study the online preparation and do all the tasks and exercises by hand. Start here.
  2. Request feedback about reps, checkpoints and assessment tasks before you attend class.
  3. Take your live class with a teacher using the A Mark 30 Live Class format.

 

Your teacher will use the following feedback comments as you work through the assessment tasks in this module.

You used some good fixed expressions in the topic sentences of your body paragraphs.
You are aware of the importance of appropriate paragraphing in a report.
You showed that you could divide information into two groups in a task with two charts.
You showed the ability to divide information into two groups in a task with one chart.
You wrote an accurate point sentence without support from your teacher or classmates.
You were able to appropriately select features within paragraph topics in a sample task.
You showed that you were able to follow the plan of key features that you drew on your chart.
You were able to produce an effective report about one chart excluding the overview.
You did not make many spelling errors in your practice report.
You were able to write sentences without referring to the notes with the formulas.
You varied lexis and grammar in your sample report. 
You wrote an appropriate pace. 
You are aware of some fixed expressions in the topic sentence of your body paragraphs, but you need to memorize them.
You do not seem to be aware of the importance of paragraphing in a task 1 report.  This is an important lesson for you to review.
You had some difficulty dividing information into two groups in a task with one chart.  Work on this a little bit more. 
You need to become aware of how some information is not appropriate in a report.
You needed help writing the preparation point sentence for the sample report.  You should be able to do this independently.
You needed support when dividing information into two paragraphs for the sample report.  You should be able to do this independently.
You tried to make a plan of the key features, but you are still unclear about how to do this.
You needed to refer to your notes when writing the sentences in your report.
You wrote your sample report a little too slowly.  You need to pick up the pace.
You made some spelling errors which were noticeable. 
Your grammar and vocabulary was generally good, but you should start to think about varying it a little bit more in your report.  
You did not demonstrate that you know how to use a fixed expression in the topic sentence of your body paragraphs.
You are not aware of what a paragraph is in a task 1 report.
You did not demonstrate the ability to divide information into two groups to form appropriate paragraphs. 
You were not able to write a preparation point sentence in the sample report.
You do not know how to make a plan of key features on the chart.
You are not able to write a report without constantly referring to your notes. 
You made a number of spelling errors which caused communication difficulties at times.
You did not follow any of the steps to write a report.
You use basic vocabulary in your reports.
